Four-legged walking robot spot that started selling online

Boston Dynamics opened an online store and started selling the four-legged robot Spot. The price is $74,500.

Boston Dynamics is an American robot manufacturer that began to gain popularity in the early 2000s as a quadruped walking robot BigDog. In 2013, it was incorporated under Google X, a new technology division of Google, but is currently sold under Softbank because it is difficult to generate immediate profits.

Spot has a small and light battery, and various cameras and sensors, CPU and GPU can be added depending on the application. Spot has already begun demonstration experiments and practical use by numerous organizations through a rental program, and is being used in various fields such as remote diagnosis by doctors at the construction site. This online store sells the developer platform model, SPOT Explorer, at the previously stated price. Of course, depending on the application, additional cost is required to add various cameras such as 360 degree, inspection zoom, and three-dimensional recognition lidar, as well as a spot core, which is a CPU unit for robot processing, and a robot image AI processing device.

The Spot Explorer is for general use, but it must meet the requirements of Boston Dynamics to purchase the product. Related information can be found here .
