Swedish transport EV manufacturer Einride unveiled a new generation of fully self-driving electric trucks for the first time as a self-driving heavy-duty transport vehicle with Top Gear trucks on a test track in Surrey, England. Recorded the record time.
It is the first large-scale transport vehicle that was run from Time Attack using the Top Gear Circuit. It shows that the fully-automatic truck head runs smoothly to the end of the course at the HGV limit of 80km/h or higher for heavy goods transport vehicles in the EU. It shows not only the driving performance but also the excellence of the autonomous driving system using AI.
Ainride recently announced four next-generation models of autonomous electric trucks called Autonomous Electric Transport (AET). In the case of AET1, which runs only in pre-programmed positions, and AET2, which can run on short-distance roads, the maximum payload is 16 tons, and the rudder is 130 to 180 km, and is expected to be released in 2021. The AET 3 and 4 increase the driving speed. AET3 will be able to drive on general roads at 45km/h, and AET4 will be able to drive on highways at 85km/h, and delivery of these products is planned to begin in 2022.
