Make your own LP at home?

Phonocut is a product that allows you to make an analog LP record at home. This product is a home vinyl recorder that can cut plates as well as external audio inputs. It allows you to personally create analog records like cassette tapes from CDs and digital sources or directly played sound sources.

A 10-inch SP record-sized plate to engrave the sound of your recordings is available for $10. Put this on a platter, or turntable, and start cutting by pressing the phonocut start button while inputting music through an external sound source. Phonocut performs the equalizer and mastering work in real time, and the recording time is 15 minutes per section.

The finished record is called lacquer in the general record making process. Usually, after mastering it through several treatments based on this, a stamper is made, and records are mass-produced using the stamper. But for personal use, you can still listen to music on a turntable as a first step.

This product emphasizes that the finished vinyl is of high quality, but it is not known how effective the equalizer or mastering process performed in real time, or how well the sound quality is when playing back. Nevertheless, this product may be suitable for live recording of analog records directly in the field, such as a live house, or for recording performances such as events and contests.
