Google renewed G Suite as Google Workspace in October. Accordingly, logos such as Gmail, calendar, and document tools were changed. The problem is that there are voices that the new design has the same color and shape, and that it is difficult to distinguish if it is displayed small. In response to this voice, an unofficial plugin that can return the Google service logo displayed on the Chrome tab to the old one has been released, drawing attention.
While opening and using Google services directly, the appearance of the logo shouldn’t be a problem. The problem is when it is displayed small on a narrow tab. The familiar Google colors, red and blue, yellow, and green are difficult to discern, and there are some bad comments that they all look similar.
The newly released unofficial extension plugin (Restore old Google icons) replaces Google Meat, Calendar, Gmail, etc. in Chrome tabs with the old logo. It’s a simple plug-in and nothing else. However, the logo of the previous version cannot be quantified because it is easy to recognize at a glance even on tabs, but it may be thought that it will improve productivity.
Of course, this extension plug-in can only be used on the desktop version of Chrome, but not on the mobile version of Chrome such as iOS, iPadOS, and Android. Related information can be found here .
