Microsoft cannot say that its voice assistant feature, Cortana, has been successful. However, it is reported that Windows 10 is testing a new feature called Voice Launcher that allows you to search by voice.
This feature was originally introduced to Windows 10 with some of the features for Windows 10X. In September of last year, Windows 10 Insider Preview build 20206 also added a number of features to the emoji selection tool, Windows voice input, and touch keyboard.
This voice launcher will automatically appear in the taskbar search box, in the Settings app, in the Start menu, in any text box with Windows Search API enabled. It is also said to be invoked by pressing the Windows key and H together using a Windows screen reader application. The languages supported are English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
Microsoft is appealing to provide voice recordings to provide a more accurate experience for everyone who speaks their own language. Some say Microsoft employees and suppliers evaluate it, while records containing voice-linked personal information will be deleted. It also says that if you don’t like voice search, you can always disable it in the Settings app.
The feature is expected to be released in the spring of 2021 via the major update 21H1. Related information can be found here .
