A research team from Chemnitz University of Technology in Germany has developed T-Paper, a speaker that can be printed in color on both sides and looks like ordinary paper. If the T-paper is applied, music or sound effects can be played directly from a poster or book, and the width of expression is expected to expand further.
As for the T-paper, 90% of the total is made of conventional paper, so it is called a speaker, but it is only seen as ordinary paper. T-paper was developed by a research team at the University of Chemnis as part of a printed electronic device development project that has continued for more than 20 years. The research team developed the T-Book, a book made of paper speakers in 2015, but the paper speakers used in the T-book needed to be made by hand one by one with a double structure of a normal paper layer and a conductive organic polymer layer.
T-paper can be produced using the two-roll method and mass-produced at low cost. You can also connect a few T-papers to provide a surround environment. By connecting 7 T-papers, you can configure a 360-degree sound system, and the total weight including the circuit is only 150g.
