A movable shelf that moves magnetically on the table?

ACOPOS 6D is a pallet that B&R Industrial Automation, an Austrian industrial automation company, floats itself on a table and moves quickly and accurately into complex paths.

This product has a 6-axis degree of freedom with a 24cm square plate and can carry up to 14kg. It can be used like a conveyor belt for research or small product manufacturing. If you keep looking at the moving shape, you seem to produce beautiful movements. Combined with a robot arm and a 3D printer, the function can be used to the fullest. It explains that it is suitable for products with frequent design changes or small quantities.

The company calls this pallet a shuttle. Permanent magnets are used, and each ID is assigned so that the controller can determine the location. A modular electric motor segment is placed under the table, and it is designed to move quickly back and forth, left and right, like a maglev train. The maximum speed is 2m/sec and the floating height can be changed. It is also possible to lower one side of the shuttle.

Robots used for processing are synchronized in microseconds, and if the system has 200 segments or more than 50 shuttles, it has scalability, such as handling multiple network controllers and synchronization shuttles simultaneously in large quantities. In addition, since each segment can control four shuttles at the same time, it realizes four times more efficient than competitors and also supports a weighing function. Because it floats in the air, there is no need to grease and no maintenance effort is required. In this respect, it can also be useful in clean rooms and food processing that do not allow dust penetration. Related information can be found here.
