Instagram announced the remix function

On April 1st, Instagram added a remix, a new feature that allows you to collaborate with a reel video that allows you to post a short video of up to 30 seconds.

This function is, so to speak, a copy of the Duet function from TikTok to Instagram. If you select your favorite reel video and select the reel video as a remix from the menu, the screen is split into two, displaying the selected reel video on the left and the newly shot reel video on the right. The recorded video can be posted on the reel.

Remix is activated by default for newly posted reel videos in the future, so anyone can create remixes unless intentionally turned off. In addition, for reel videos posted so far, remixes can be created if the creator himself activates remixes for each video.

You can also use a remix to react to your friend’s reel video. Like the TikTok duet, it can also be a popular feature on Instagram.
