On April 21 (local time), Microsoft announced the Classroom Pen 2, an inexpensive Surface stylus for educational institutions. It will be released in the United States on April 27th and will cost $399.80 for 20 sets, which means $19.99 each. That’s one-fifth the price, considering that a normal Surface Pen costs $99.99.
The first Classroom pens launched in 2019 are selling for $799.80 from 20, so the new pen is half the price. Of course, there are not only price cuts, but also some improvements. The design has been changed and the enclosure has also been elongated. Thanks to this, it is said that all students can use it naturally.
Another design change is the addition of clips that attach to the Surface Pro and Surface Go covers. This can reduce loss when carrying. According to Microsoft, Wellington College in the UK saved 3.8 million sheets a year with the introduction of Surface. It also saved 120 pounds per unit without purchasing printer paper and toner.
