Introducing new features such as Google Meat, video background and AI zoom

Google announced that it will introduce a number of features to its video chat service, Google Meet, including video backgrounds and AI zoom.

Google Meat can already replace its own background with a photo and prevent it from illuminating a dirty room. The video background feature, available within a few weeks, allows you to change your background in a video with a motif of a classroom, party, or forest.

In the next few months, an Autozoom function will be provided that illuminates itself in the center of the video by AI. Autozoom can be used by users using paid Google Workspace.

From May, the ability to customize the video panel with an improved desktop version of the Google Meat interface will be added. This makes it possible to display your video feed in a grid and change its position and size. Additionally, settings to pin multiple feeds will be available in the coming months.

In the web version, if the video exposure is insufficient, a function to automatically adjust the brightness is added. This feature is already being introduced in the mobile and desktop versions. Also, if you are joining a conference on the mobile version, you can start using data saving mode this month. Google Meat, which is expected to improve various functions like this, is a free plan and the unlimited calling campaign has been extended until June 30, so it may be good to try it.
