Battery-replaceable EV scooter Gogoro, Foxconn

Taiwanese company Gogoro, which operates a battery-replaceable electric scooter business, announced that it will cooperate with Foxconn to accelerate its overseas expansion.

Go-go-ro electric scooters can be used immediately even if the battery capacity is reduced by exchanging batteries such as large lunch boxes at the charging station. Gogoro has announced service deployments in Japan, India and China.

There are reports that Foxconn also signed a production contract with US Fisker and Volvo’s parent company, Geely, as part of supporting the development of electric vehicles. Through this partnership between Gogoro and Foxconn, the two companies will cooperate in vehicle engineering, smart battery technology and production. Gogoro will also be able to focus more on designing and selling technology development vehicles. However, there is no specific announcement on which regions Gogoro will enter in the future.
