Opera browser optimized for Chromebooks

Opera announced on July 1 (local time) that it has optimized the Opera browser for Chromebooks. Opera is said to be the world’s first alternative browser optimized for Chromebooks.

Since Android apps work on Chromebooks, you have been able to use various browsers such as Opera, Firefox, and Edge in addition to Chrome so far, but these are only for Android. In contrast, the Opera browser optimized for Chromebooks can use keyboard shortcuts that were not available on Chromebooks so far, and unique features such as browser VPN, ad blocking, and cookie conversation blocking.

Other available features include a built-in messenger application, defining five color themes, light and dark modes, and night mode to reduce blue light.

Of course, it can also sync desktop and mobile versions, so that’s good news for Chromebook users using Opera on this device. Opera for Chromebooks is also available as an update for Android, which users can download from Google Play. Related information can be found here.
