In this era of subscription, flat-rate services are being introduced not only in movies and TV programs, but also in music, bags, flowers and drinks. However, this time, it is said that Australian earphone manufacturer Nura has launched NuraNow, an earphone subscription service.
NuraNow offers several plans depending on the type of Nura earphones and headphones you want to use, and the lowest plan offers Nuratrue for $5 per month excluding the initial cost of $20. If you choose $8 per month excluding the initial cost of $30, you can use Nuraloop, a wireless headphone, and Nuraphone, a smart headphone, with an initial cost of $50 and $10 per month. Product use is for 2 years. After two years, replace them with new headphones or earphones. All three models support Active Noise Canceling and have immersive sound support, touch controls, and a social mode that lets you listen to your surroundings.
You can rent headphones for a monthly fee, but there is no purchase option right now, and if you leave the service within two years, your device will be disabled by remote operation and you will have to send it back within 30 days. If you do not return it, you will continue to be charged a monthly membership fee.
If you purchase NuraTrue, it costs $200, but if you use it for two years, it is $140 including the initial cost, so it is about $60 cheaper if you use the subscription service. The most expensive nuraphone price is $400, and after two years of use, it is $290, which is $110 cheaper. It’s definitely cheaper, but I don’t know if I’ll opt for a subscription rather than owning for this price difference. Of course, the choice rests with the consumer.
