Can iPhone camera be damaged by motorcycle vibration?

A new page has been added to Apple’s product support page stating that exposure to vibrations created by high-powered motorcycle engines can affect iPhone cameras.

According to Apple, some models, such as the iPhone 12 Pro Max, are equipped with OIS, an optical image stabilization device that takes sharp pictures even when the camera is moved incorrectly when taking pictures, and closed-loop autofocus that maintains focus by measuring the effects of gravity and vibration.

Although these systems are designed with durability in mind, if they are exposed to high amplitudes and vibrations in a specific frequency range for a long time, performance may deteriorate and the picture or video quality may deteriorate. Specifically, it is expressed that it is not recommended to install an iPhone on a motorcycle because the vibration generated by the high-power, high-capacity motorcycle engine corresponds to the high amplitude and vibration of a specific frequency.

It is pointed out that Apple itself made a CM video using an iPhone in an extreme environment, and some of them ran through the desert on a motorcycle. Related information can be found here.
