“Only 7% of the genes unique to modern humans”

Humans, which were born through various evolutions, were born in the course of evolution, in addition to Homo sapiens, which are modern humans, archaic humans such as Neanderthals and Denisovans. Research has revealed that most of the genes of Homo sapiens are the same as those of previous humans, and only 1.5-7% of the genes are unique.

The University of California research team, who led the study, analyzed the genomes of one Denisovan, two Neanderthals, and 279 Homo sapiens, and investigated to what extent previous human DNA was passed down to modern humans. As a result of the survey, among Homo sapiens, Africans had 0.096-0.46% common genes with Neanderthals, and non-Africans had 0.73-1.3% overlap with Neanderthals.

According to the research team, Homo sapiens continued to inherit the genes of old humans such as Neanderthals and Denisovans. The research team said that Homo sapiens crossed with Neanderthals and Denisovans, and the genes were mixed. Related information can be found here.
