Google Meet makes it possible to mute participants designated by the host

Google has added a lock feature that allows hosts to mute the microphones and cameras of designated participants in the host of the video call service Google Meet. This means that it is now possible to mute participants designated by the host. Earlier this year, a function to mute all participants at once was added, but more efficient control was possible.

This function is intended to respond to participants who are causing confusion in the meeting, but it can also be used when you want only a designated person from among many participants to speak. Also, if a participant who is using a version that does not support the lock function of the mobile app is locked, the participant will be removed from the meeting. An application update is required if you try to join a meeting that has lockout enabled.

The lock function is available to all Google Workspace users, G Suite Basic and Business users. Related information can be found here.
