Does your child eat a lot of vegetables? An idea plate with optical illusions and tricks

The Helping Plate is a plate developed by Dutch food company HAK in collaboration with a research team at Wageningen University. This product contains the idea of making Angie want to eat vegetables.

First, she used pure white porcelain like an adult, excluding colorful colors like illustrations. In addition, it was made larger than normal children’s, so that the vegetables on top felt like a small amount. Here, the inside of the plate was made to be recessed inward. The recessed space was placed in the front rather than the middle to make it easier for children to eat. Also, if you look closely, there is a light gray and white gradation in the front of the recessed space inside the plate. The idea is to make the vegetables look more delicious by making the space that holds the vegetables look the brightest.

A plate with optical illusions and psychological tricks added to it, priced at $16 per sheet. It is said that the first 1,000 copies were sold out immediately and additional production began. It is still sold only in the Netherlands, but there is a possibility that it will go global if the effect is good. Related information can be found here.
