In response to British singer Adele’s remark that the order of the album’s songs has meaning, Spotify, a music streaming service, has turned off the shuffle playback function in the album as an option, and turned it off by default.
Spotify defaults to shuffle playback of playlists, albums, and artist profiles. Since album songs are also played in shuffle regardless of the song order, some users and artists have expressed a desire to turn off the shuffle playback function for a long time.
As for Spotify’s album shuffle playback feature being turned off by default, Adele says that’s the only request he’s made in the ever-changing music industry. He said that he was grateful that Spotify listened to his request by saying that since music is about creating a story, you should listen to the songs in the intended order.
To the tweet, Spotify responded with anything for you, revealing that album shuffle was turned off in response to Adele’s request. Spotify is excited about turning album shuffle playback off by default, stressing that Spotify has continued to improve its products and features to create the best experience for artists and fans alike. Of course, the album shuffle playback function itself is still available. Related information can be found here.
