On November 22nd (local time), Twitter announced a Live Shopping feature that allows you to shop while streaming live on Twitter. In collaboration with Walmart, we will conduct a live streaming test with American singer-songwriter Jason Deruulo on November 28th at 19:00. In this live streaming, you can introduce electronic devices, household items, clothing, etc. and shop on the spot.
About the live shopping feature, Twitter explained that live streaming on Twitter is a natural extension to that, giving businesses the power to relate to their most influential fans.
Twitter has already tested the shop module, which allows you to introduce products and shop on your corporate account profile. To coincide with the live shopping announcement, this feature will also be available at more retailers in the US in the coming weeks. In addition, it is said that a shopping manager test, which makes it easier to manage this shop module, will be conducted.
Considering that Facebook and Instagram are already launching a shopping feature, it’s a bit late for Twitter to enter this space. However, if this function is expanded at once in the future, there is a possibility that it will become a shopping platform that cannot be ignored in the future. Related information can be found here.
