Disney Research has announced that it is studying a bipedal legged robot that supports 6DoF, six-axis degrees of freedom such as up, down, left and right, up and down, with serial and parallel hybrid mechanisms.
This bipedal robot leg uses a carbon fiber tube and the joints bear a bearing. To create a smooth movement while increasing rigidity. The most important feature is that the human legs open 10 degrees to the front of one leg and 20 degrees open to fit the legs. Considering that both legs are facing the front, it can be said that it is a more humane structure than existing bipedal robots.
This robot can be seen to move the entire legs as if the girl is sitting, to change the angle under the ankle, to move the thighs and crotch, and to move the joints wide.
