Rishab Jain, a 13-year-old boy, has developed artificial intelligence to treat pancreatic cancer. Although there are many sites where cancer occurs, the survival rate of pancreatic cancer is very low because it is near the end. Only 9% of patients survive until 5 years after diagnosis, and 1% after 10 years. Even more surprising is that this figure has remained steady for the past 40 years.
This 13 – year – old boy developed a new treatment using artificial intelligence. The boy, who lives in Portland, Oregon, USA, won a tournament sponsored by 3M. The invented artificial intelligence based PCDLS Net. It is a tool with the ability to locate the pancreas and track the radiation treatment process.
The pancreas is difficult to find in many organs such as lungs. The activity here is the PCDLS Net, which uses a CT or MRI cross section to identify the location of the pancreas. Knowing the position more precisely, you can position the radiation to be closer to 3mm than usual. That does not mean that millions of healthy cells will disappear into radiation.
The boy expects to gain US Food and Drug Administration FDA and clinical trial approval in the next few years, while increasing the reputation of PCDLS Net, patient survival rate, and tool availability. In the future, I also have a dream to become a biotechnology and surgeon. For more information, please click here .
