Intel filed patent for Bitcoin mining technology

Intel has filed a patent for high-efficiency, high-performance Bitcoin mining technology. This application was filed by USPTO on November 27 (local time).

Intel’s patent target is hardware acceleration that implements the SHA-256 hash using an optimized data path. The goal is to reduce bit coin mining power consumption by up to 15%. This document states that SHA engine clusters may consume large amounts of power, and the invention says that the invention includes a high efficiency ASIC-based SHA engine capable of processing bit coin mining at low power.

Intel has already filed patents earlier this year aimed at reducing the amount of power consumed in cryptography. Minimize power consumption per hash and maximize performance per watt. This year, Intel is showing an active presence in the field of cryptography and block chains. I have also partnered with Enigma (DApp) platform Enigma. In September, we partnered with SAP, a multinational software company, with the goal of addressing market gaps in solutions that enable block-chain systems. At the end of October, we also joined Leisure, a hardware startup that aims to provide solutions for digital currency and block – chain apps. For more information, please click here .
