Digit is a bipedal robot that US car maker Ford has been able to carry with the starter AgilityRobotics to carry luggage from the courier to the door.
Digits have switches for operation between the arms, between the arms and the neck. When the switch is pressed, the digits start to execute. At the top of the body, there is a head part such as an eye camera and a sensor, and the chest has a model name (DIGIT-1). When a Ford autonomous vehicle reaches the front of the house after running down the street, the back door opens and the digits behind it land on the ground. In conjunction with vehicle map data, the digits determine the optimal route to the door. The weight of the digit is 18 kg.
The digits are avoided when they detect a frontal obstacle. You can go up and down the stairs. You can even handle luggage down at the door. Of course, it is not known yet when digit will be practical. For more information, please click here .
