Even in off-road races, the EV era opens. Extreme E is opening in 2021. Half a year after the announcement of the Extreme E initiative earlier this year, the Odyssey 21, an Extreme E machine, was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.
This series will hold series exhibitions in desert areas, glaciers, and rainforests, which are most affected by climate change. Spark Racing Technology, in charge of the Formula E system design, is in charge of the development of the aircraft, and the body combines a steel pipe frame made of niobium alloy and a huge wheel with a diameter of 940 mm. The body weight is 1,650kg, but the Zeroback is a vehicle that runs at a high speed of 4.5 seconds. Teams participating in the Extreme E series use this machine, but each team can develop their own improvements.
As previously stated, this series will open in 2021. The Extreme E will take on a machine and use the giant passenger ship, RMS St Helena, to compete in series around the world. Related information can be found here .
