Google Stadia “Purchase rights, gifts are also possible”

Google updated the FAQ in June after announcing the target regions and prices for streaming game service Stadia. Through this, you can know details such as service initiation procedure, controller processing, and multiplayer.

According to this, when you purchase a game, you own the right to play. Like existing packages or download games, you have the right to use them. It also revealed that titles purchased before Stadia can be used for gameplay, except in unexpected circumstances.

Stadia can use any personal Google Account to purchase Founder’s Edition and requires a code transfer process via the email address linked to it. Once you get the redemption code, you can use it in other email accounts. In other words, you can purchase from your own account and give gifts to acquaintances or family members.

It also mentions whether you can play all of the games. The number of people who can play online at the same time depends on the game being played. Of course, it is said that up to 4 Stadia controllers are supported for multiplayer games in a local environment in the home using one Stadia account.

The Stadia controller connects to a PC, smartphone, or tablet and uses Bluetooth, but the gameplay uses a connection through Wi-Fi. In other words, it is not possible to wirelessly connect the controller and smartphone through Bluetooth. However, you can connect wired via USB Type C. It may be possible to connect multiple controllers using a USB hub even when playing multiplayer.

Initially supported mobile devices are smartphones, Pixel 3, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL, and Pixel 3.3XL, and tablets are limited to devices with Chrome OS. However, the number of supported devices will be expanded in the future. In addition, for virtual reality headsets such as Daydream, Stadia commented that currently Stadia cannot tell about VR support. For the time being, it is expected that it will focus on smooth motion by sticking to existing game titles, not virtual reality. Related information can be found here .
