Tesla explodes in accident on Russian highway

Local media reported that a Testra car crashed on a highway near Moscow, Russia, was engulfed in flames and exploded. The driver was injured relatively lightly, but the vehicle exploded and burned black.

Reportedly, the vehicle model was not disclosed, but it appears to be a Model S or 3. The driver of the vehicle was a 41-year-old Russian male, who was also accompanied by a child. The driver is known to have used the drive assist function, but it is unclear whether it is an autopilot. When it hit the left lane tow truck, the driver was holding the handle with both hands.

The driver had a broken leg, but the children suffered bruises, and they all took refuge. However, the vehicle caught fire a little after it crashed, and two explosions occurred in the body.

The details of the crash are still unclear, but Tesla said they are confirming the details. Of course, it is not uncommon for an ignition to occur in a crash vehicle. Tesla cars are also small in number, but there have been several fires after a crash.

As mentioned earlier, it is not clear whether the autopilot will be executed. It is possible that the drive assist function used by the driver is a simple class of cruise control. Related information can be found here .
