Waymo unveils autonomous driving dataset for free

Waymo, an autonomous driving company, released an autonomous driving dataset free of charge for research. The company explains that it is the largest and most diverse set of autonomous driving data ever released for research.

Of course, the dataset for the development and development of autonomous driving technology was released by Ford’s Argo AI in June and Lyft in July. The Waymo dataset, which was released this time, consists of 1,000 segments of continuous driving for 20 seconds generated by autonomous vehicles. Target locations are San Francisco, Phoenix, Kirkland, and Mountain View, and driving was carried out in various conditions such as night, rain, and sunset.

The data included are high-resolution 360-degree images using five cameras installed from the front and the side, as well as data from sensors such as five riders developed in-house, data synchronized with rider sensors and camera images, and information on vehicle and pedestrian, bicycle, and sign labels. .

Waymo said it can be used for research and educational purposes without any problems. Related information can be found here .
