Fairphone 3, an eco-friendly modular smartphone

Fairphone 3 is an eco-friendly modular smartphone. Modular smartphones have the advantage of reducing waste of electronic devices by replacing broken parts. This idea was introduced by Fairphone 3, announced by Fairphone in the Netherlands.

Fairphone 3 is a smartphone developed with a focus on transparency, accessibility, and ease. As the successor to the previously introduced Fairphone 2, environmental resources were considered. Existing smartphones have problems with high prices or no way to repair them if they break down.

Fairphone 3 consists of 7 modules, and the 8-megapixel front camera and 12-megapixel dual-pixel rear camera can also be easily replaced. Gorilla Glass 5 is adopted for the display, and the internal storage space is 64GB, and it can be increased by 256GB or more through a microSD card. As of the shipping standard, the operating system is equipped with Android 9, but it is said that in the future, it will be able to select Android AOSP (Android Open Source Project).

The main body is made of recycled copper and recycled plastic, so that it does not contain minerals that may cause disputes. Related information can be found here .
