Installing Android on Nintendo Switch?

There is a person who hacked the Nintendo Switch and turned it into an Android device. In February, Android developer Max Keller released a video of running Android 10 Q on the Nintendo Switch. However, he revealed that he wasn’t doing it, so the developer was unclear and he didn’t even distribute the ROM so that others could install it. In the meantime, a ROM that can actually be installed on Nintendo Switch has been released on the developer community site, XDA Developers.

The ROM was developed by Switchroot, a team active here. The team announced through Twitter that they succeeded in porting Android to the Nintendo Switch in June and will release a ROM in July.

It’s not just Android itself that you can actually install. LineageOS, an open source operating system based on Android 81 Oreo 15.1. In addition, in the case of Nintendo Switches manufactured after July of last year, as the anti-hacking function has been strengthened, the Nintendo Switch to be installed must have been manufactured previously.

According to the development team, installing Android on the Nintendo Switch does not affect the original operating system, so there is no worry about damaging the Nintendo Switch. Of course, like a disclaimer, he added that if you actually install the ROM, you are secretly responsible for it. Android ROM can be found here .
