What is a startup that Elon Musk refers to?

Tesla Motors, SpaceX, Solar City, etc., who have only experienced startups several times, and are known as the icon of innovation, how will Alon Musk think of starting a business? Through a short three-minute interview, Alon Musk advised those preparing to start a business in three ways: what is a business start-up and what attitude is necessary for starting a business.

◇ Startup is Pain = First, Musk advises you to recognize that starting a business is not for everyone, and it is a huge pain. He quotes an acquaintance and says that starting a business is as hard as eating glass and looking into the deep abyss. When I first start a business, I become very optimistic and the level of happiness is very high. He said that if he succeeded in the end, he could find the happiness he had lost, but he affirmed that most of the entrepreneurs did not succeed.

◇It’s useless if you’re a little good Be very good = According to Musk, products and services are useless if they are slightly better than the competition. It does not apply to a market that did not exist or a market where competition is not large, but in order to enter the existing market and gain competitive advantage, it must be superior to the product or service in the existing market. If you don’t know why customers should use a brand that has emerged instead of the existing brand, it’s time to think again.

◇ Seek criticism = Seek criticism. Musk says good criticism is as valuable as gold. He advises that it is good to be criticized by anyone, but especially to find it from friends. Usually friends know what’s wrong, but they don’t want to hurt them so they don’t talk. He says that although not all of his friends are correct, there is a high probability that they will. Musk tells us not to aim for things that are not wrong, but to catch things that are less wrong. Basically, it’s good to approach the problem with the assumption that I’m wrong. In an interview, he admitted that Tesla was almost unsuccessful and close to failure.
