Tim Borden succeeded in launching the world’s largest fireworks display. The total weight used in this fireworks display, which broke the Guinness record, reaches 1,270kg. His first challenge was on February 10, 2019, a year ago. The flame used at the time was 1,130 kg, which was 140 kg lighter than this time. Firecrackers for fireworks, which are usually fired, had to reach a height of 1.6 km to explode for safety, but at the time of last launch, they exploded inside a cylinder and failed.
A year later, on February 8 (local time), a spark fired from a ski resort in Colorado, USA, broke the second Guinness record and succeeded. The 8m high cylinder contains firecrackers within 1m 58cm in diameter, making the sky bright enough to think of the night sky as daytime.
This fireworks display broke the Guinness record, but the record so far was a fireworks display held in Dubai during the New Year’s Countdown event in January 2008. At that time, it shot 500,000 shots in 6 minutes, and the weight of the firecrackers used was said to be 1,087kg. The size of the firecrackers launched this time is 1.52m in diameter and weighs 1,270kg. Related information can be found here .
