Conditions for US NASA to select astronauts

The Artemis plan is a project by NASA to send humanity back to the moon by 2024. Now, it is said that they have started recruiting astronauts who want to go to Mars in the future with the International Space Station ISS.

According to the conditions laid down by NASA, you must first be a U.S. citizen and have completed two years of research for a doctoral program in science, technology, engineering or mathematics, or have completed a doctorate in medicine, massage therapy, or doctorate in medicine. Those who have completed a recognized test pilot school program or are expected to complete it by June 2021.

In addition, you must have at least two years of relevant professional experience and at least 1,000 hours of experience in jets. What’s more, it must pass tests to see if he has the physical ability to withstand NASA’s long-term space flight. You must be within 157-190cm in height to wear a prepared spacesuit. Recruitment starts on March 2nd and can be applied online.

Up to now, the number of NASA training astronaut candidates since the 1960s is 350. There are 48 astronauts currently active. It means that if there are 350 people for 60 years from 1960 to 2020, only less than 6 candidates can be candidates a year. It must be a narrow gate.
