The Ami is a miniature electric vehicle announced by French automobile manufacturer Citroën. Ami means friend in French. Two people can ride, and in France, at the age of 14 you can drive without a driver’s license. This is because the maximum output is 6kW and the maximum speed is about 45km/h, so it belongs to the micro automobile in Europe.
ARMY was developed with the goal of mobility for everyone, and can be used through rental or car sharing in addition to purchase. For example, if you buy a car, the price starts at 6,900 euros (including tax), but if you have a long-term rental for two years, you pay 3,544 euros including tax first, and then you pay only 19.99 euros per month for the next 48 months and you can leave it in your garage. In addition, in France, you can get a subsidy of 900 euros for both purchase and long-term rental.
If you want to use it only when you need it, you can use it for 0.26 euros per minute, 12 euros per hour, and 40 euros per day through a vehicle sharing called Free2Move. However, this is a member price of 9.90 euros per month and the non-member price is higher.
For an additional fee, you can choose from four colors: orange, khaki, blue and gray. It is also possible to add parts or stickers. The body size is 2.41×1.36×1.52m, has 14-inch wheels, and the vehicle weighs only 490kg with batteries combined.
The Army doesn’t have a bonnet or trunk, but it has a 64 liter luggage compartment under the passenger’s feet. However, there is only a heater in the vehicle and no cooling function. The battery can be charged in 3 hours by plugging the cable into a 220V outlet for general households in Europe. The distance you can run on a single charge is 70km.
In France, reservations are accepted from March 30th. It can then be ordered in Spain, Italy, Belgium, Portugal and Germany. The first shipment is expected in June, and it is said that in Paris, France, it will be possible to rent an Army with the Free To Move logo on this spring.
