Sacramento Kings, an NBA team, joined hands with NINA, a maker of IoT devices, and announced a beverage service using the Internet of Things. The service is provided by the team’s hometown, California’s Golden 1 Center.
With this service, when you pay for a drink using a desktop tablet, the Nina device attached to the bottle is unlocked and poured out as much as you purchase. At a location located within the center, you can drink as many drinks as you like by ordering. However, suites and loft seats with this structure are premium seats that cost $1,000 per space. From a customer’s point of view, it is not known whether it will be accepted as a system such as a vending machine or an unmanned convenience store. Rather, you may prefer to actively receive service from people, but surprisingly, in a test sale in January, sweets and lofts using Nina showed a significant increase in profits compared to the same period last year.
You may be accepting that you can drink as much as you want when you want, without interrupting watching the game. Also, as before, the bartender can ask for it, so it seems that it will not replace the bartender job at all. As the structure itself can be applied in other places such as restaurants and hotels, there may be opportunities to use it in other places in the future. Related information can be found here .
