Facebook officially announces “50 people unlimited time” messenger room

On May 14th (local time), Facebook officially announced the Messenger Rooms, a video chat service that can accommodate up to 50 people.

The messenger room was released on April 24th, and has been tested by only opening it to users in some regions, including the United States. This time, it was officially launched globally. To use it, simply press the camcorder button on Messenger or Facebook to create a room and send a link to the friend you want to invite. Those who have received the invitation URL can participate by simply accessing the URL. The owner who starts the room needs a Facebook account, but anyone who is invited can participate with just the invitation code without registering an account.

The messenger room can use up to 50 people in one room for an unlimited time. Zoom, which has been widely used for online meetings so far, is a significant advantage considering that there is a time limit if you do not register for a fee.

The online meeting-related market is in a fierce battle, as the number of people using not only zoom but also Google Meat has recently increased. As the messenger room is scheduled to carry out new updates in the future, attention is focused on how it will stand in such competition. Related information can be found here .
