GitHub CEO mentions possible resurrection of deleted YouTube-dl repository

Nut Friedman, CEO of GitHub, joined the developer’s IRC channel to resurrect the repository as soon as possible after GitHub’s released video download project YouTube-dl has been removed at the request of the American Record Association RIAA. I made it clear my intention to let it go.

YouTube-dl has been exposed to the GitHub code in programs that download videos such as YouTube, bilibili, and Vimeo, as well as SoundCloud music files. However, the code was deleted when the RIAA requested deletion under the DMCA of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act because it was evading technical protection measures for copyright.

However, objections are being raised from nonprofit organizations that support free software and open source software. Following this move, Nut Friedman, CEO of GitHub, responded. He showed up in an IRC chat where developers gathered and said he wanted to restore the YouTube-dl repository as soon as possible.

At first, he was suspected of being the person who claimed to be the CEO, but he used his Twitter to prove that he was himself and consulted with the developer. YouTube-dl, which used to be a problem, was in a state where the original repository was immediately deleted, but a number of mirrors are occurring on GitHub as it counteracts the RIAA movement. One report pointed out that the RIAA’s movement had created a strisand effect, saying that pressure was applied to spread the problem unnecessarily. Related information can be found here .

Through the monthly AHC PC and HowPC magazine era, he has watched 'technology age' in online IT media such as ZDNet, electronic newspaper Internet manager, editor of Consumer Journal Ivers, TechHolic publisher, and editor of Venture Square. I am curious about this market that is still full of vitality.
