Chrome extensions are convenient, but they are often pointed out such as bad data collection. In May, we added tools to make it easier to manage extensions to Chrome, but in 2021 we’re going to enforce a stricter privacy policy than ever to improve privacy and security.
Access rights to extended data are usually selected during installation, which allows you to set individual access rights when accessing the website. Once you choose, you can save your permission settings on that site. In addition, it is not possible to set it individually and allow it to be allowed on all sites in bulk, but it is not the default setting.
In addition, after January 18, 2021, on the detail page for each extension function in the Chrome Web Store, a clear and easy-to-understand description of the data collected and accessed can be posted. Regarding the purpose of using the data to be retrieved by the extension, the developer must agree to the policy, such as using it for one purpose only and not using it for advertising purposes that are not transmitted to other companies, and the purpose is notified to the user.
