Google’s video conferencing service, Google Meet, iOS client will be updated soon, supporting up to 8 video tiles in the form of a checkerboard, while the Android version will soon be supported.
In the desktop version, the Google Meat tile display has already been completed, and up to 49 people can be displayed, and by default, 16 tiles can be displayed. On mobile, it did not respond to the tile display like a checkerboard, but the iOS version first supported it.
It is difficult to determine whether displaying tiles on a small smartphone screen is the correct answer with UI, but competitors such as Zoom and Facebook Messenger Room are already capable of displaying tiles on mobile. Anyway, it could be an important update to feel like you’re talking to a lot of people at the same time, with teleconferencing and home study becoming more common.
