Facebook Cloud Game Service responded to iOS as a web app. The way you play in the browser.
Facebook’s cloud game service has been beta testing in parts of the United States since October 2020. Like other services, the game itself is run on a cloud server and the video is streamed to the terminal. Until now, it is only supported by Android, and iOS has not responded to the guidelines set by Apple.
Apple took a position to indirectly deny the cloud game itself, saying that delivery games need to be individually downloaded from the App Store. So, when Facebook started beta testing the cloud game, it didn’t release the iOS version and was considering other methods.
Facebook Gaming has an app for iOS as well, but in the iOS version, you can’t play games on the app for watching live games.
Of course, Facebook also criticized Apple’s game app restrictions for forcing the game to be removed from the iOS version of Facebook Gaming. Facebook’s vice president of gaming, Vivek Sharma, says currently the only way to stream cloud games on iOS is through a web app. In addition to Facebook, not only Amazon and Microsoft, but also iOS version cloud game service in the form of playing in a browser.
