It was agreed at the developer conference that Etherium core developers will carry out the long awaited Constantinople hard fork in the 708th block.
Prior to this agreement, Etherium developers decided to delay the implementation of Constantinople by the end of January 2019 due to a consensus-building issue during the hard fork trial run at Test Netropen in October.
According to Etherium information site Ethernet scan data, the eradium block time is 14.3 seconds and the remaining number of blocks until the hard fork is 234,431. Considering this, the implementation of the Constantinople upgrade is likely to be around January 14 next year.
The new Constantinople has adopted a five-measure solution to smooth transition from proof of concept (PoW) to energy-efficient equity (PoS). Once upgraded, the entire system node is updated at the same time. Therefore, this update will fundamentally change the Ether Blocks chain. For more information, please click here.
