On August 26 (local time), Porsche’s first electric car model, Porsche Taycan, launched a time attack in Nurburgring, Germany. It is said that it recorded 7 minutes and 42 seconds, the highest record for a 4-door electric vehicle.
The Taycan is said to have succeeded in maintaining high performance for a long time by adopting the 800-volt system of the Porsche 919 Hybrid that participated in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) from 2014 to 2017. For reference, general electric vehicles use a 400 volt system.
The 7 minutes and 42 seconds recorded this time is the record as a four-door electric car. For example, the record for a two-door vehicle such as the 919 Hybrid or the 911 GT2 RS is six squads. It can be said to be the best performance in the sense of checking the Model S of Testra, a competitor of the four-door electric vehicle.
