Blockchain projects 25% originate in China

There are reports that China is leading the world in the number of blockchain-related projects currently underway. According to the block data report, there are 263 blockchain-related projects in China. This is equivalent to 25% of projects in the world.

Lee Keley, CTO of Qulian Technology, a blockchain platform developer, says that the financial sector, especially asset security for banks and brokers, is the largest blockchain technology user.

Last year, the World Intellectual Property Organization WIPO reported that China had the most patent applications related to blockchain. According to data collected by WIPO, more than half of the 406 applications filed in 2017, or 225, were made in China. This was followed by 91 in the US and 13 in Australia.
