SpaceX Falcon Heavy is in charge of metal asteroid exploration

NASA has signed a contract with SpaceX for a mission to explore the metal asteroid Psyche. Under a $117 million contract, the NASA probe will take off targeting an asteroid in July 2022 using a Falcon Heavy rocket.

The asteroid Psyche is considered to have collided with other celestial bodies during the formation of a primitive planet, blasting away everything except the core and core formed of iron and nickel. It is expected to be able to find out what planets like Earth and the early solar system look like. The mission is led by Arizona State University, and the probe is set to arrive in orbit around the asteroid in January 2026. Related information can be found here .
