The Boring Company opens a roof tunnel in Las Vegas

The Boring Company has opened two underground tunnels in Las Vegas, USA. This tunnel was built to pass through a new transportation system devised by Elon Musk, called Loop, 12 meters below the LVCC at Las Vegas Convention Center, which is well known as the CES venue for the consumer electronics exhibition held every January. The system was named the Convention Center Loop, and when completed, it allows three stops installed within the 900,000-square-meter convention center site to be round-trip within minutes.

You may be concerned that the LVCC will be expanding, making the vastly wider site wider and making round trips for large-scale events more difficult. However, the newly installed monorail and the convention center loop that will reduce the LVCC movement from 15 minutes to 2 minutes on foot will help the flow of personnel.

Vehicles that will drive inside the roof are vehicles equipped with guide rollers such as Tesla Model X. Of course, since the number of people that can be transported at one time is small, as previously announced, autonomous vehicles that can transport dozens of people at once are expected to be brought in.

The convention center loop is scheduled to open in 2021. It is expected to help inform the future of transportation in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, The Boring Company said that the installation of the roof in LVCC is a design that can transport more than 4,000 people per hour as it enters the commercial transportation field for the first time.
