Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 “upperforms 85%”

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon Wear 4100+ and 4100, which are processors for smartwatches on June 30 (local time).

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon Wear 3100, a smartwatch chipset in 2018. However, the Snapdragon Wear 3100 was a minor change from the previous model, the 2100, and the processor itself was the same. On the other hand, the newly announced Snapdragon Wear 4100+ is said to be realizing high speed and performance through major changes.

The biggest difference between the flagship model Snapdragon Wear 4100+ and the previous model is that the manufacturing process was changed from 28nm to 12nm. In addition, it is based on the 1.7GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 instead of the 1.1GHz Cortex A7, which boosts the performance by a whopping 85%. In addition, Wear 4100+ is equipped with GPU, Adreno 504, LPDDR3 memory 750MHz, eMMC 4.5 storage, and dual ISP (Image Signal Processor) of up to 16 million pixels.

Not only that, but unlike so far, Qualcomm is preparing two models in the 4100 lineup: Snapdragon Wear 4100+ and 4100. The 4100+ is equipped with the main chip SDM429w and the latest version of the coprocessor (QCC1110 Always-On Co-Processor) that appeared with the previous model. However, if a coprocessor is not needed, the 4100 is provided without it.

Accordingly, the CPU increased its performance by 85% and the memory was also increased by 85%. The GPU is 2.5 times faster and can support up to 16 megapixel cameras. The 4100+ is equipped with an AON coprocessor and handles up to 64,000 colors, allowing you to monitor heart rate for health, read sleep information, detect fast awakening, walk count alarm, and use timers and tactile functions to provide various functions to your smartwatch. Can be mounted.

Qualcomm has already started shipping chipsets and is expected to be delivered to developers from July. Related information can be found here .
