
As the economy was hit by Corona 19, PC shipments fell 10% in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the same period last year. However, demand for PCs increased again, and in the second quarter, it was found to have increased compared to the same period last year.
According to a report released by market research firm Gartner, PC shipments in the second quarter were 64.8 million units, up 2.8% from the same period last year. By manufacturer, the biggest growth was Acer, which increased by 23.6%, and Asus also showed an increase of 21.4%. HP showed growth of 17.1%, Apple 5.1%, Lenovo 4.2%, and Dell decreased 0.3%.
As for the market share, Lenovo ranked first with a 25% market share of 1,6197,000 units. After that, HP ranked 2nd with 1,6165,000 units, 24.9%, and Dell ranked 3rd with 1,0648,000 units and 16.4%. Apple had 4368,000 units (6.7%), Acer 47,000 units (6.2%), and Asus 3593,000 units (5.5%).

Meanwhile, according to another market research agency, IDC report, shipments in the second quarter were 72.26 million units, up 11.2% from the same period last year. When looking at the number of shipments and market share by manufacturer, HP ranked 1,8082,000 units (25%), followed by Lenovo 1,7411,000 units (24.1%) and Dell 12.01 million units (16.6%). This was followed by 5.594,000 (7.7%) of Apple and 48,88,000 (6.7%) of Acer.
