Google announced a new interface with improved visual functions for smart displays such as Nest Hub. When you wake up in the morning, you can organize and check the daily schedule or news (Your morning/afternoon/evening), a function to manage smart home appliances (Home Control), and various media programs such as Netflix and Spotify. Five tabs, including Media, have been added. It gives a more comfortable feeling to touch operation using a smart display rather than voice operation.
Your morning displays the weather for the day, appointments and news summaries registered in the calendar. Depending on the time of day, it changes to afternoon, evening, etc., and the contents of the display change. With Home Control, you can control the connected devices in one place, such as turning off the bedroom lights or turning on the air conditioner.
Media content such as Netflix, Disney+, and Spotify are displayed and playable. In the Communicate, the person registered in the contact information such as Meet or Duo will appear and you can start the call immediately. Discover introduces features that Smart Display can do and provides access to help. In addition, it supports multiple accounts such as personal and work, supports dark themes, and added a sunrise alarm that gradually brightens the screen 30 minutes before the alarm.
