SpaceX launched an additional 60 satellites for Starlink, a satellite internet plan on October 18 (local time). Accordingly, all 835 Starlink satellites have been launched.
The launch took place at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and the first-stage booster was recovered, but the recovery of two streamlined modules protecting the payload was half the success. The reason is that half of the streamlined modules dropped by parachute on two collection vessels in the Atlantic were actually caught, but one out of four collected along the way was damaged. According to SpaceX, the crew of the recovery vessel was safe, but this was not an ideal result. Nevertheless, it is clear that recovering one of the two pairings makes sense for the reusability of the Falcon 9 rocket.
This shows that SpaceX can maintain its ability to fire at high speed. SpaceX is mainly focusing on launching its Starlink satellite this year. Nearly 300 Starlink satellites have already been launched since June and are scheduled to launch at least twice in November.
Starlink is already conducting in-house testing by SpaceX staff and engineers, and is preparing to start public beta by the end of 2020. Related information can be found here .
