DJI, a drone company, renewed its camera gimbal brand, RONIN, and announced new gimbal brands, DJI RS2 and DJI RSC2, on October 15 (local time). In addition, the DJI RS2 peripheral device showed automatic autofocus using a lidar scanner. The YouTube channel (MAKE.ART.NOW.) released the video filmed through this to attract attention.
In the video, it is the Sony Alpha 7SIII that was installed on the DJI RS2. The lens is Zhongyi Speedmaster III 50mm F0.95. When a peripheral device is connected to the DJI RS2, settings can be made through the LCD display, and the lens focus is automatically operated on the interlocking gearbox. It is also possible to shoot remotely through a smartphone.
The Alpha 7SIII is equipped with a face detection AF function. The face detection AF function has a slight focus delay, but the 3D focus function can track men moving back and forth in front of the camera with high precision. Even if it is far away, it gives the feeling that the rider’s built-in auto-focus is properly aligned.
Of course, the DJI RS2 and rider built-in auto-focus can be combined with other cameras as well. Any camera can easily autofocus, so anyone can shoot videos with the same quality as those taken by professional photographers. Related information can be found here .
