Instagram has released three updates related to Instagram Live on October 27 (local time).
First, the live broadcast time is extended from 1 hour to 4 hours. Although it is conditional that there should be no violations of policies such as copyright or community guidelines in the past, anyone can broadcast live for a long time. Also, live video is automatically archived. Until now, you had to choose between sharing on IGTV or downloading or deleting videos immediately after the end of the live broadcast, but in the future, you can keep them for once and share and download them later. Live videos stored in the archive will be deleted after 30 days.
Finally, to help users easily find live broadcast videos, a section that displays videos being broadcast in real time and videos shared after delivery is added to IGTV. In addition, after the live broadcast, the screen will also display recommended live videos. In addition, the auto-archiving function is said to reflect the opinions of creators, such as if delivery ends in the middle due to a network connection problem, sharing or download options are not displayed, or sharing is forgotten after delivery. With the prolonged live time, attention is focused on whether Instagram live will be activated.
